In Bloom at Hinterlands, Liverpool
Do you ever just see something and think wow?! That’s how I felt when I saw the advert for the new Gucci Fragrance. It had all of those laid back summer Lana del Rey vibes which just make me stop and stare. It was a strange co-incidence or maybe it just shows how alike we are but as Jazmin and I were talking about wanting to do a shoot together we both blurted out that visual. We imagined the smell and the style all parcelled up into a wedding package, hustled together some of our favourite suppliers and created ‘In Bloom’. Luckily for us they also all understood what we saw and I really hope you love what we created as much as we do.

We wanted to take inspiration from the Gucci Bloom advert but put our own spin on it. To do this we decided to put it somewhere unexpected - a warehouse. We thought what better mix than to have something beautiful sprout up out of the concrete. We choose Hinterlands an upcoming venue in Liverpool’s amazing Baltic Quarter. The light and bright space was perfect.
Next up was the flowers… we needed someone who could really create a dreamy feel and that’s where Kate from Agnes and Bee stepped up even higher than we could have imagined. The flowers were the most vivid pinks and her keenness for foraging gave us some foliage that just fit in with the wild look. The moss as a finishing touch was a brilliant idea and made it look more realistic.
For the stationery I wanted to keep it simple with touches of colour and classic touches. I love the way the textured paper, velvet and wax all brings the table together. I put together a few different looks so you can see how to style similar things in different ways.
I styled the table along with classic candlesticks and vases from Agnes and Bee. Runner and Velvet from Silk and Purl. Candles by Ester and Eric.
I love love love Flamingo Boulevard. Jazmin and I are so similar making this all come together was so easy.
With her dresses and the gorgeous faces of our models you just could go wrong. Plus look at the cape she made. It’s a thing of dreams.
… and then there was the cake. The perfect touch of texture and colour. From its gold foil to the delicate flowers. Marie Antionette always creates contemporary cakes but with a touch of whatever that special element to you is. In this case pure simple romance.
We were really lucky on this shoot to work with the lovely jewellers Wongs. They are a family business in the centre of Liverpool. If you haven’t paid them a visit you should.
Their work room is something to behold.
The models are gorgeous without anyone even touching them but when Hannah Carson MUA and Charlotte Medford Bridal work their magic you just can’t help but stop and stare! We went for effortless looks throughout that Brides could really ask to replicate on their wedding day and look timeless in years to come.
Finally I need to mention Amy Faith Photography who just hopped right on top of this brief and the results were unique and amazing just like her work always is.
